I love mornings. When I can get out of bed that is.
Even at the beach in summer you can have time and space to yourself. Even the sun puts on a great show for you.

Remember all those summer holidays when you were a kid? It doesn’t matter where you went for your holidays, it was always fish & chips for dinner. And now it’s the same with the kids and grandkids – fish & chips for dinner by the water in summer. Of course, feeding the birds is all a part of it. And in our part of the world, that means pelicans!

The Outdoorsy One came down to stay for the weekend. She was missing her mum and wanted to hang out. So we did.

As you can see from my website, I love to travel, and I love to take photos. Combine the two and you have my perfect job – travel photography.
If only somebody would pay me to do it I’d be as happy as the proverbial pig.
Maybe one of the reasons I don’t get paid for it is I’ve never been able to work out exactly what travel photography is.

There’s another late entry in the biggest whinger of 2011 competition.
That is everybody who’s joined in the annual whinge about the difficulties of holidaying in Australia.
It seems like every time I pick up a paper or turn on the radio I hear somebody else whinging about traffic out of the city, or the cost of staying in Australia, or the distances involved in getting anywhere ‘interesting’.
