I had lunch with Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca.

How many people can say that on a Sunday? Unfortunately, Harrison Ford was absent.

We missed the Lovedale Long Lunch on Saturday, so Sunday we made sure that today we were there on time.

We got up this morning, had breakfast (over a number of shifts), then those of us who were ready sat outside waiting for the others. There’s six of us in this house, with 2 bathrooms. I really don’t think I need to say anything more about how long it might take us all to get ready.

The Lovedale Long Lunch. A marketer’s dream. A leisurely stroll (well … bus trip) from one winery to another, having gourmet meals matched with fabulous wines.

Well, you have to get your priorities right and in my defense I bought the tickets at the beginning of the season. I couldn’t waste them!

So, I was in Sydney while Doc rested up at home in Wollongong.

Taking advantage of the situation I thought it would be a good idea to catch up with my kids for Sunday lunch. Unfortunately both of the girls had their boyfriends in tow. Not that I don’t like their boyfriends – they’re both nice enough and I get along with both of them – but they don’t like each other. So lunch with the kids turned into breakfast with one lot and lunch with the other. No wonder I’m putting on weight!

Families!

The second instalment in the Sunday lunch project and we’re wavering already.

Plans were to go out somewhere around Dee Why because we were up that way for a 50th birthday. On the Saturday night we went out for dinner across the road from Dee Why beach. The restaurant was very good, the company was interesting, the weather was perfect, and the views were beautiful. Walking to the car along the beachfront after dinner was spectacular.

Unfortunately, we didn’t stay up that way but came back south Sunday morning. So rather than Dee Why we decided on Sunday brunch at Coogee with my oldest daughter and her boyfriend.
